About Yvonne Kavanagh Spiritual Ceremonies
Yvonne Kavanagh OSUI is an Officiant of the Spiritualist Union of Ireland. She is a Registered Solemniser in the Republic of Ireland and a Registered Officiant in Northern Ireland. Yvonne’s approach is rooted in individuality, mindful that every couple’s journey is uniquely their own. She works with couples to include elements that hold the most profound meaning for them, creating unique ceremonies that express their love and resonate with their beliefs and values. Yvonne’s ceremonies reflect each couple’s distinct love story.
As a Registered Solemniser in the Republic of Ireland and an Officiant in Northern Ireland, Yvonne has the honour of legally marrying couples and guiding them through significant life events. Her ceremonies flow with ease and are full of joy and love. Yvonne’s positive outlook infuses every ceremony with an air of optimism and celebration.
Yvonne strives to ease the burden on couples during what can be a stressful time. Her well-prepared approach and attentive guidance provide couples with the assurance that their ceremony is in capable hands. Her expertise and calming presence ensure a joyous and seamless experience.
With over two and a half decades of marriage and four children, Yvonne possesses a profound understanding of the delicate tapestry of love, commitment, and family bonds. She has a background in business and education, but it is her artistic flair, natural good humour and respect for each couple’s wishes that fuels her creativity when writing ceremonies.
Drawing from her deep Celtic roots, Yvonne’s ceremonies often embrace cherished Celtic traditions, such as the ancient ritual of handfasting. She finds joy in seeing couples embrace their heritage – whatever that may be, while creating a ceremony that truly reflects their identities. By working closely with couples to create their perfect ceremony and being meticulously prepared, Yvonne ensures that every detail is flawlessly executed, allowing couples to relax and embrace every moment of their ceremony on their big day.
We at Spiritual Ceremonies take pride in our dedication to creating meaningful ceremonies. Since 2010, we have performed more than 18,000 ceremonies across Northern Ireland, seven days a week, helping couples mark their special moments with care and sincerity.
We have a large team of Registered Solemnisers, all of whom can perform the legal element of a wedding. This is important, as some celebrants outside our organisation are unable to complete the legal requirement and may advise that it cannot be done on the same day — which is not the case.

We had the absolute pleasure of having Yvonne as our celebrant this July at our wedding at Finnebrogue Woods. When we met Yvonne in Maynooth back in January, we just knew that she was the person to tell our story and create such a special ceremony for us. Nothing was too much of an ask and we had so much agency over what we could include in the ceremony. She had such lovely ideas and suggestions of how to remember those who could not be there and to include the very special children in our lives. We were so blown away by Yvonne’s writing and ability to capture our story to share it with our guests. Our ceremony was so full of love, fun and laughter and truly exceeded all of our expectations. Yvonne was simply the best! Our ceremony was everything we wanted and more! As soon as I seen Yvonne I knew she was for us! She was amazing and covered so many little details and included all our loved ones in our ceremony. All our guests are talking about her and how amazing she was. From the moment my wife and I met Yvonne at the wedding fair at Belfast Castle, we got on like a house on fire and instantly warmed to her quirky and quick-witted personality and her lovely southern Irish accent. We exchanged details, and the more we got to know her, we knew we had definitely made the right choice for her to be our celebrant. She listened to our story and fully took all that we wanted into account. She laughed with us and shed tears and she made our day so special and so personal that everyone who attended our wedding is still talking about it now. She truly is a woman with a huge heart and a beautiful soul ♥️

Yvonne is absolutely amazing, she was the Celebrant at my brother’s and his partner’s Wedding last January, such a lovely lovely person, funny too and made us all feel so calm during the ceremony, we didn’t want it to end, highly recommend Yvonne she’s fantastic ❤️

From the first meeting we knew Yvonne was the only person we wanted to marry us, she instantly got our story and told it on the day in a way that I don’t think anybody else could have. She was very professional and completely down to earth, as if we had known her a long time adding a very personal element to the ceremony . We truly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to marry us than Yvonne. 🤍 From our very first meeting, she made us feel completely at ease and took the time to get to know us as a couple, creating a ceremony that felt so personal, meaningful and uniquely us. Every little detail was thoughtfully planned, but one of the most special moments was when she created our very own Celtic knot for our handfasting ceremony. It was such a beautiful, symbolic touch that we’ll treasure forever. Yvonne has such a warm, calming presence and delivered our ceremony with so much heart, making it emotional, joyful and full of love. Adrian and I were married in the Hole in the Wall by Yvonne Kavanagh, Spiritual Celebrant. Yvonne was incredibly focused and involved with us at every moment from our first meeting, all the way through planning and organising and on to our big day. She was very attentive to every detail of our story and our requests and gave us great ideas and suggestions for the ceremony. The legal requirements as well as the process of the ceremony itself were clearly explained so that we were very comfortable and at ease and could enjoy every minute, knowing that all was taken care of. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect celebrant than Yvonne from Spiritual Ceremonies. From the very first moment we met her, she put us completely at ease, and that feeling stayed with us right through to the ceremony itself. She created the most intimate, meaningful, and truly unique ceremony, beautifully bringing our two cultures together. The colours of the handfasting cord which Yvonne made herself and the use of sand from both Ireland and Malawi made the ceremony incredibly personal and symbolic , something we will treasure forever. 🤍 Yvonne has such amazing qualities, everything you could possibly want in a celebrant and so much more. We could not have had a more amazing celebrant than Yvonne Kavanagh! We met at the wedding journal show in Belfast, the connection between her and ourselves was instant, she is the kindest & funniest person! Yvonne Kavanagh was our celebrant for our wedding at Orange Tree House, and we cannot recommend her enough. From our first enquiry call, she put us at ease and clearly explained everything we should consider when it comes to planning a ceremony and choosing a celebrant. We had a very specific idea for our ceremony, and Yvonne worked with us to make that happen. Our ceremony was so touching and personal, we had more than a few guests tell us it was the best wedding ceremony they had ever been to. We had the absolute pleasure of having Yvonne from Spiritual Ceremonies as our wedding celebrant when we tied the knot (literally) on our big day on the 2nd of August 2025. We started planning our special day 2 years in advance, and from the moment we met Yvonne at a wedding fair at Belfast Castle, we knew we wanted her to marry us as we became instant friends with her lovely warm and friendly manner and great sense of humour. From then on, Yvonne spoke with us frequently on FaceTime calls and we also met in person on occasion to talk about our big day, and she took us through all the planning with ease, listened to what we wanted and put it all into place. We had a great laugh with her, which was a bonus, and she made us feel so comfortable in her company. On the day, Yvonne led the ceremony so professionally, and we felt we couldn’t have picked a better celebrant for us as she incorporated everything we had asked for into the ceremony flawlessly and with grace, from the legal side of things to mentioning all our loved ones who were with us in spirit and the handfasting, which she should be hailed a saint for remembering what all the ribbons meanings were! Even though we were nervous wrecks, she made us feel so at ease on the day, and all our guests have mentioned how beautiful and personal our service was and unlike anything they had seen before. In a nutshell, we couldn’t recommend Yvonne and spiritual ceremonies enough as our ceremony was more beautiful than we could ever have imagined and we are so thankful to Yvonne for making our day one to remember forever.
