There is something truly enchanting and magical about a Christmas wedding and more so if it’s set within the grounds of a stunning Irish castle such as Bellingham Castle.

What makes Bellingham Castle particularly unique is the sheer variety of imagery it offers for a wedding day. From editorial-style portraits in it’s grand hallways to romantic, candlelit moments in its historic interiors, and soft, natural outdoor shots in the grounds, every corner tells a different story.

Dearbhaile & Aodhàn’s recent Christmas wedding here, was everything a couple could dream of. The bride was the epitome of elegance—classy, stylish, and effortlessly chic, with a fun-loving energy that shone through in every moment. Dawning a Rosa Clara gown from As You Do Weddings, Dearbhaile was beautifully elegant and yet timeless, moving gracefully through the castle’s historic surroundings and perfectly complementing the setting.

Aodhàn, the groom, looked incredibly dapper in a green velvet tuxedo, a bold and sophisticated choice that felt made for a Christmas wedding. The rich texture and festive tone of the suit added depth and personality, standing out beautifully against the neutral stone backdrop of the castle. Together, they struck the perfect balance between refined style and relaxed joy—an absolute dream to photograph.

The weather could not have been more ideal for their photos. A crisp winter day with soft sunshine breaking through. The light was gentle and flattering, casting a warm glow over the happy couple giving that cinematic feel to their portraits.

Their reception felt luxurious, warm and inviting. The décor was beautifully considered, with elegant details throughout that enhanced the castle’s natural grandeur rather than overpowering it. The cake, designed by the amazing Busy Whisk Bakery, was a true statement piece—refined, detailed, and perfectly suited to the overall aesthetic of the day.

As evening fell, the castle exterior came alive with Christmas twinkle lights, creating an incredibly romantic and festive backdrop. These lights added a layer of magic to the day, making for unforgettable editorial inspired portraits in the grand hallway and exterior of the castle filled with warmth, sparkle, and seasonal charm.
