Pressed Resin Frames

This stunning pressed frame went back to the lovely bride as a Christmas present and you would be forgiven for thinking that this is a traditional pressed frame in floating style. Where the Flowers’s are mounted between glass and plexiglass to create artwork that’s floating in the frame. However this frame has had the flowers cast and inlayed into a thin layer of resin that mimics the look and effect of glass.

So why would you go to the extra cost of haven your flowers cast into resin? After the preservation process your flowers colors may look stunning but these colors will only last a few years. Over time the atmospheric moisture will break down the natural preserved pigments in the flowers leaving the flowers whitewashed or even browned. Meaning you have to send your work back to the preservation artist for maintenance and airbrushing. However resin encases your flowers protecting them from the atmospheric moisture meaning those vibrant colors will be protected and maintained for a lifetime.
