Dream Day at Darver Castle

Where do I even begin with this incredible day?

Laura and Scott’s wedding at Darver Castle was an absolute joy to capture from the very beginning right through to the final golden light of the evening. As a wedding photographer in Ireland, I am lucky to be part of so many unforgettable celebrations, and this one was truly special.

I began the morning in Laura’s family home, and it could not have been more perfect. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was welcomed like one of the gang. The atmosphere was full of excitement, laughter and emotion as Laura got ready surrounded by the people who mean the most to her. There was such a warmth to the whole morning, and I just knew we were in for something amazing.

While I was with Laura and the girls, my second shooter Tara met with Scott and the boys as they got ready for the big day. It is always lovely having both sides of the morning covered, and I know how much couples treasure looking back at those little moments that happened before they saw each other at the top of the aisle.

Laura looked absolutely stunning, and Scott’s face when he saw her walking down the aisle said it all. You could feel the connection between them all day long. They are the kind of couple who make everyone around them feel welcome and relaxed, which is exactly how I love to work. Nothing staged, nothing forced. Just real moments and genuine emotion.

Laura and Scott exchanged their vows at Laura’s family church in Warrenpoint, a place filled with meaning and memories. It was such a heartfelt ceremony and being there to capture those emotional moments in a setting so personal to them made it all the more special.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Darver Castle for their reception. The castle grounds were looking beautiful as ever, with their blend of historic charm and elegant backdrops. Laura looked absolutely stunning, and Scott’s face when he saw her said it all. You could feel the love between them all day long. They are the kind of couple who make everyone around them feel at ease, and that relaxed energy made the whole day such a joy to photograph. Nothing staged, nothing forced. Just real moments full of heart.

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how genuine everything felt. From the heartfelt ceremony to the spontaneous laughter during the speeches, there were so many authentic moments to capture. It was a day full of emotion, connection and joy.
