When The Friend Becomes The Florist

Everyone has their own reason for preserving their flowers. A story or a meaning behind them. But Laura explains so well why her flowers became so important to her and her day.

At the beginning of the wedding planning experience, my flowers weren’t something I thought much about. My friend works in a florist and I knew she would be doing my flowers for the wedding, so I knew she would do them in a style that was very me and that I was going to love them. 

When I went to the consultation for my flowers, the only thing I knew I wanted was the colour of them and I wanted her to include a Protea in my bouquet. I also provided her with some purple dice to include in the bouquet and my husband’s boutonniere, as the wedding’s theme was Dungeons and Dragons. Other than that, I let her run with them and do with them as she thought best.

On the day of my wedding, she dropped them off personally because she wanted to see my reaction to them. I was ecstatic. I did the thing that toddlers do when they are really happy where they tap their feet on the floor rapidly.

They were all so beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
