About Cellofella
Hello, my name is Oliver, aka ‘CelloFella’ and I am a professional freelance cellist with over 25 years of experience. Firstly, if you are on here, may I offer my congratulations to you and your fiancé. You must both be so excited! You are in the right place to find all the wonderful vendors for your big day. Music can not only enhance your big day but create a totally unique atmosphere according to your requirements. Music can recall so many memories of your most special day. I can help create this for you from as soon as guests arrive, ceremony, drinks reception, during the meal entertainment and post meal upbeat vibes. A little background about me…
- Trained as a Classical/Jazz musician.
- BMUS(Hons) Music, MA Music, PGCE teaching.
- Instruments: Cello, Piano, Guitar, Bass Guitar, Trumpet.
- Played in orchestras, jazz bands, wedding function bands, string quartets, blues bands.
- Passionate about making music and create unique moments for couples on their special day.
I have played all over N. Ireland, Ireland, England and in Europe for hundreds of weddings. In addition to the wedding scene, I can be spotted at festivals throughout the year including Derry Halloween Festival, Derry Jazz Festival, Belfast Maritime Festival and The Stendal Festival.
I have a strong following on social media especially Instagram. You can find many unique interpretations of well-known pieces.

Couldn’t recommend Oliver enough! He did the music for our ceremony and our evening meal and it was amazing! He even assisted with playing a recording of my daughter for my husband before we walked down the aisle which made everyone tear up! He was so responsive when organising which made it so much easier. My family members also booked Oliver, and their wedding was amazing too!! Thank you for everything your talent is Incredible!!

Oscar supplied us with both ceremony and drinks reception music for our wedding on the 16th of May 2026 and we could not have been happier with the service he provides. We couldn’t recommend Oliver enough! From the very beginning, he was so easy to deal with and made everything so straightforward in the lead-up to our wedding. The upbeat music was exactly what we wanted for our drinks reception and created such a brilliant atmosphere at the Galgorm. Oliver fitted in perfectly with the day, and the music really added something special while everyone was enjoying drinks, chatting and celebrating. Our drinks reception was fantastic, and Oliver was a huge part of making it feel so relaxed and enjoyable. Oliver was fantastic! Everyone at the ceremony and drinks reception commented on how good he was. Everything was easy to organise and he has a really extensive selection of songs. Incredibly well priced for the service delivered and we cannot recommend enough. Don’t think twice about booking him.

We booked the Cellofella for our wedding in August 2026 and it was one of the best decisions we made. Everyone was raving about him afterwards! We went for the ceremony and cocktail hour package and he was brilliant during both parts. From the start, Oliver was easy to deal with. He sent a list of songs he could play, which was more than comprehensive enough for what we needed. Communication was great, he turned up on time and is just unbelievably talented at what he does. I first heard Oliver playing in the boulevard in banbridge and I thought he was absolutely class. I called my now husband, put him on speaker and said, ‘listen to this isn’t he great?’ As soon as i got home that day we emailed Oliver and booked him for our day 2 celebration! If you are looking for a cellist who is not only an incredibly talented musician but also a complete joy to work with, look no further than Oliver. He recently played at our wedding, performing during both our church ceremony and the reception, and he was outstanding from start to finish. What truly set Oliver apart was his professionalism and kindness leading up to the big day. He performed alongside a friend of mine who was singing, and he took it completely upon himself to coordinate and handle all communication with her beforehand. He continually reminded me, “It’s not the bride’s job to stress over this,” and assured me that once the songs were picked, I didn’t need to worry about a thing. Having a vendor who actively protects your peace of mind is priceless! For the reception, Oliver brought an amazing array of songs that kept our guests thoroughly entertained. His repertoire is fantastic, and his performance added such an elegant yet lively vibe to the atmosphere. We are still having guests comment on how brilliant he was! Oliver played at my wedding a few weeks ago and was unbelievable. I still have guests telling me how good he was. He played for the ceremony and drinks reception and I could honestly not recommend him enough! From booking with him , sending our music requests and to the day everything was so seamless and nothing was a hassle for him. Forever happy I decided to book him for my wedding day!

Oliver was absolutely fantastic. Seamless communication from the start. He was able to learn two new songs for our ceremony with no complaints. My only wish is that I’d had him for more of our day! Really lovely guy too which really added to our special day. Had so many guest compliments. He was also amazing with our flower girls and page boys, put them at ease and practised their walk with them. Highly recommend – legend!!

Our guests and us had the best time at drinks reception. Oliver was the best entertainment for our wedding. Every guest was so impressed. Oliver also provided the music for our ceremony the arrangements were so good even the priest was amazed at how good everything sounded. We had Oliver play during our wedding meal and cannot recommend him enough! We wanted entertainment that wouldn’t overpower or take over the meal itself and Oliver was perfect! Having Oliver play was one of the highlights of our wedding. We really wanted to keep our guests entertained during dinner and maintain a fun, upbeat atmosphere throughout the day, and he did exactly that. His performance created the perfect ambience while everyone was dining, with a fantastic mix of music that kept the energy high without overpowering conversations. As dinner moved into dessert, he lifted the song choice and got everyone excited for the evening celebrations. Our guests absolutely loved him, and we received so many compliments about the music. Oliver played at our wedding ceremony in our church and at our drinks reception in Beech Hill Country House on 1st May, and he was incredible. His music created the perfect atmosphere throughout the day and brought all the Bridgerton vibes we had hoped for! So many of our guests commented on how talented he was — they were absolutely obsessed, and he really stood out as one of the highlights of the wedding. My mum heard Oliver playing when out shopping one day and as she knew I wanted string music for our wedding ceremony she sent me his details. I enquired with Oliver about our wedding date and we were delighted he was available. I absolutely loved the idea of a cellist performing during our ceremony and to say when I heard that beautiful music as I walked into the church, it was magical! Oliver was great at helping with a few other song choices I was unsure of as I had already main one chosen but struggled with others. You brought my bridgerton dreams to life, in a classy and elegant and memorable way. I would highly recommend Oliver for your ceremony music as he was the icing on the cake for our ceremony setting. We recently asked Oliver (cellofella) if he was available and able to play at our wedding ceremony and drinks reception for our wedding in April past. Oliver is the loveliest person friendly and professional and was very accommodating with our requests re music and choice of song, even special requests where no problem or inconvenience to him. He has an amazing range of music to choose from. Oliver was phenomenal, absolutely amazing cannot find the words to highly highly highly recommend cellofella enough. All guest complimented him an are still talking about him now praising his music an him personally so friendly and easy to get on with. I was first drawn to Oliver’s services due to his extensive and impressive song list and willingness to be open to extra music. Unfortunately he wasn’t available on the day of my wedding but he went above and beyond to help me source another cellist for my special day. Even though he couldn’t play for me it’s very obvious he cares a great deal about his clients and their weddings. I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking!

We had Oliver for our ceremony and drinks reception and I have nothing but good things to say. From the outset regards communication and arranging a date he was easy and uncomplicated to deal with. His set list was provided and we picked from it – it has all you need and more! On the day the music was beautiful…and nothing was too much trouble. As his music also includes additional accompaniment through the system he uses…there was no need for having extra instruments and musicians at extra costs. Would I book him again for another event or recommend for another wedding – 100% YES!! A real talent. Thank you for such a beautiful day❤️

We have Oliver for our drinks reception music and also music during our meal, everyone has commented how amazing it was the different genres to suit everyone’s taste, the little hologram behind him while playing had everyone hooked to see what was next. I was really unsure whether or not I needed music entertainment during these moments, all I can say is if your on the fence or love music like I do, book it as you will not regret it. The music was nice in the background so it was not stopping people from chatting. Wish I could do the day all over again! Thanks again Olivier!

We had Oliver for our ceremony and drinks reception there is nothing this man can’t play a massive hit for all my guests and my favourite entertainment booked! I personally have not seen anyone like him at a wedding from pulling on the heart stings to people getting pulled onto the dance floor he has such an array not to mention his fabulous suit and graphics. Oliver’s cello music was so beautiful ☺️ He played our favourite songs in such a lovely way, really adding to the atmosphere of the day! Our friends and family absolutely loved the music, some commented it reminded them of “Bridgerton style music”! We loved all of the songs, it was perfect for the cocktail hour and also for the reception! Some of the songs in the reception were so upbeat that we got up and danced along and had a great time! I wasn’t sure of what entertainment I wanted for our wedding guest during the dinner service, I had a few ideas in mind until I heard Cellofella playing in Foyleside shopping centre over Christmas when i was shopping, Oliver put on a show stopping performance and I knew from then this is what I wanted at my wedding. All our guests complemented your performance on the day of the wedding and are still singing your praises 8 months on. Oliver you were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, such a lovely friendly guy. Hi Oliver honestly I can’t put into words how amazing you were, your communication was amazing in the run up to the wedding always replying promptly to any questions I had. Quality of performance you were the star of the show, the amount of guests that mentioned you to me during the wedding and after the wedding, you really had the guests up dancing during meal which was important to us , a few times during meal whilst at top table I got up to dance myself as music was amazing. The Cellofella was just a great highlight to our wedding. Our guests loved him and kept telling us all evening. My wedding coordinator said he was prompt and had no trouble with having him get set up. My husband and I wish we could have been there to hear him play the whole time (wedding photos), but our guests loved his playing. Would recommend to anyone!

5 – Communication 5 – Professionalism 5 – Performance I booked Oliver for our wedding the first time i heard him play when he had only recently moved here. Oliver was brilliant from start to finish, from the day I queried re my booking until my wedding day. Oliver was completely open to personalising our music for the day, played right through from the ceremony until the end of dinner. Such a great variety of music. Needless to say, it was a hit! I think even he was surprised at how much our guests enjoyed it haha. The party was started before the meal even ended which totally proved my worries wrong that the guests might be “cello’d out by the end of it.” Totally recommend if you’re lucky enough to secure a booking!

Communication – 5 stars, Oliver got back to any emails straight away and really made the whole process feel more personal. He gave his opinions on song choices and reassured me every time on decisions I had made. Nothing was a bother to him. After hearing Cellofella busking in Derry we knew he would be perfect for our wedding. It was a fantastic decision. He was incredibly talented and the performances not only during the service but afterwards and at the meal created a fantastic atmosphere and so many of our guests have all commented on how lovely it was. I’ll even say his performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone to a Man Utd fan (a friend’s request!) was very good. Thank you Oliver for making our wedding day so special.

Well what can I say, the cellofella is absolutely amazing, we were delighted to have him as part of our day, he played throughout dinner and after before the band set up and his music is outstanding the guests commented on how beautifully he played and how it was a lovely touch having him play throughout dinner and after, he played a lovely variety of music that catered to everyone from the young guests to the older guests, my daughter even had a lovely dance to his music and of course myself with my 2 youngest daughters had a lovely we unexpected dance to his music, a memory that will forever be imprinted in my heart. Quality of performance – 5 stars Oliver played during the wedding ceremony, which was amazing and created a lovely atmosphere from the get-go. At the venue Oliver played throughout dinner and right up until the band was ready to start. Such a fantastic variety of music and everyone absolutely loved it. Professionalism – . 5 stars Oliver is very professional but also ‘good craic’ as we say! From the moment Oliver began playing, our guests were so impressed. From the ceremony and the classy, modern dinner music played throughout the meal (people said they thought they were in Bridgerton!), to the party vibe Oliver created when dessert was being served to get everyone ready for the dance floor – you could feel the energy in the room. Oliver nailed it with the set list and it was one of the best decisions we made having dinner / pre-band entertainment. We hired the Cellofella to play during the dinner portion of our wedding after hearing him play previously. He was very easy to work with and sent us a song list ahead of time to choose from. Everyone commented about how incredibly talented he is, and I know several had fun singing along to the songs at their tables. If I could go back, I would have done our first dance before he played so people would have felt like they could dance along to his music. Overall, we had a great experience, and I hope we get to hear him play again.

He was fantastic from start to finish. We had so many positive comments about his cello playing. It was such a fantastic addition to our wedding meal and after. Overall – 11 out of 10! We absolutely loved having Oliver as part of our day, his playing during the ceremony and over dinner was a real. I gave him very little notice about what pieces we had chosen, and I noticed that unprompted he was even accompanying the piano during the ceremony. Guests absolutely loved his playing over dinner, and he was kind enough to nip down to the venue in advance to check out how the layout and sound would work. Friendly, low key, flexible and professional with a massive range of tunes I can’t recommend him enough. Communication – 5 stars Brilliant – really responsive even though I was contacting you somehow through your personal mobile / email and asking about short timescales.

Oliver is such a professional at his craft and I was in no doubt that he would give my son and daughter in-laws wedding the most beautiful musical experience. I wasn’t wrong. Oliver has a great personality and such a lovely person, he instantly makes everyone smile with his beautiful cello. I’d not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who wants a really personalised experience for their event.

Cellofella was outstanding from start to finish with the wedding. Not only did Cellofella create bespoke arrangements of each of the pieces we requested. His professionalism and communication around the music was second to none. The atmosphere and energy that he brought to our day could not have been achieved or matched by any other performer. He accompanied myself as I sang my wife down the isle and calmed any nerves before the wedding rehearsing this. He also agreed to come to the chapel early to rehearse with my best man who was also providing music at the ceremony. I can not recommend Oliver enough. His music and videos speak for themselves but on a personal level he is just one of a kind and such a phenomenal person to work with on your big day.

I cannot thank Oliver enough, from the moment I sent the first message enquiring about booking him from our wedding right through to the actual day, he was clear, communicative and so very helpful. He was flexible and willing to work around us and our day ensuring minimal worry. He was recommended via the Wedding Group, and I am so thankful, his ability to play various genres of music is exactly what I was looking for. Oliver kept in regular contact in the lead up to our wedding. All questions etc were replied to very promptly and in a friendly manner. I couldn’t rate the chapel or drinks reception higher for quality of performance. I first seen cello Fella at foyleside and instantly knew I wanted him to play at our wedding. I found Oliver to be very easy to approach and ask for advice regarding chapel music. He was a great addition to our wedding and everyone loved him.
